Hold On Little Squirrel!

I painted this little guy yesterday evening after finishing the portrait in the post below. It was raining out and I saw a squirrel running along the telephone wires overhead. I couldn't shake the thought that he probably would have liked an umbrella.

I added the background from a photograph I took.

Red Boots and Snow

I couldn't sleep last night, so I decided to stay up and paint. This was the result :)

Swim, Fish!

I woke up a few months ago with this image in my head and have been thinking about it since. I finally took the time to record it.

Stop, thief!

Will and I went to New Zealand last year. We had lunch at this place with the most fantastic beer ever (it was flavored with ginger). At one point, Will left the table, and a brazen little sparrow swooped down to nibble on his lunch. I suppose I should have shooed him away, but I reached for a camera instead. I liked the picture so much, I decided to do a painting...

Real Paintings

I've been in Herbert land for awhile now. As much as I love creating worlds for him, sometimes I wonder how legitimate those paintings are in terms of "real art." So I figured I would do something a bit more on the "serious" side. I tried to whip out a painting in a couple of hours, just to play with oils, as I've been ignoring them a bit. I would say this was a 3-4 hour painting, but broken up over 3 days. I find myself attracted to a lot of the painting a day sites... I aspire to that sort of productivity.

More Art for the viewing

Here are my latest prints - I decided to turn my attention to my cat, Miette, for one of them. She seemed a bit jealous of my imaginary friend, so I gave her some time in the limelight.
